The musician, who has enjoyed over thirty years of success in his career, would want to focus on other aspects of his life, like his wife to David Furnish and his two sons, Zachary and Elijah.

In 1993, John and Furnish experienced a brief romantic relationship before their lives were taken over by raising their sons. The “Sacrifice” singer declared that he had returned to his Windsor house and was eager to meet new people.

Then John said he instantly connected with Furnish and asked a buddy to invite Furnish and others to dinner. John was impressed by his neat appearance and quiet demeanor.

The following day, the two went on a date, which marked the beginning of their long-term romance. They decided to get married in 2014 after nine years of being in a civil relationship.

The couple sent invites via Instagram. Spending time with their sons, who carried out the crucial task of acting as ring bearers, was the high point of the day.

Furnish and John were very happy to share their union with their kids, especially after a challenging journey to become parents. It all started in 2009 when they got to know a little Ukrainian youngster named Lev at an HIV orphanage.

The couple wanted to help Lev because he came from a broken family, but the government wouldn’t allow it because he was too old. Nevertheless, the pair talked and helped Lev.

After meeting Lev, John began to consider the possibility that he might be a father. He admitted that he’d always thought he was too old to be a parent. Through a surrogate, Zachary, their first son, was born in 2010, then Elijah came along in 2013.

Raising Children Away from the Media
Despite having a busy lifestyle, the couple wanted to be actively involved with their children. Furnish said, “We don’t want to entrust housekeepers and nannies with raising our kids.” The couple’s main goal today is to raise their boys in a happy and healthy atmosphere after deciding that having boys was the best course of action.

John wrote a heartfelt letter to his sons expressing how profoundly they had changed his life. “Zachary and Elijah, you two are the greatest presents I have ever gotten. You have filled my heart with love and given my life meaning and purpose in ways I could never have dreamed,” the singer continued.

John and Furnish are happy with the beautiful family they have raised. They do not want their children to grow up forgetting the love and support they will always receive from their parents.

John opened up about how becoming a parent has changed his perspective on life and some of the ideals he and his partner want their children to inherit.

John discussed how having kids changed his perspective on money. Now that he is a father of two, he cherishes his time with Zachary and Elijah more than a hit song or piece of art.

The singer admitted that they had spent a lot of money before having children since he and Furnish were accustomed to being the center of attention. But John insisted that they had significantly reduced their spending once their sons came.

As of right now, the couple’s main priority is making sure they only own necessities. The couple has also been teaching their children the value of money and the work necessary to obtain it.

John still wishes his children had humility, even though he knows they already lead a wealthy life. As a result, the artist has said that he does not want to leave them his entire estate. Instead, he seeks to find a middle ground between giving his children a great life and preserving their sense of reality. He pondered in his mind:

Of course, my goal is to leave my boys in a very stable financial position. But it’s not a good idea to give kids the silver spoon. It has devastated their life.

Since the boys were tiny children, John has tried to teach in them a respect for money. Even though Zachary and Elijah were just five and three years old, respectively, they learned a vital lesson about budgeting from John and Furnish.

In 2016, the artist claimed that children will receive £3 ($3.74) in pocket money for helping out in the kitchen or garden. Then, each coin would be split between charity, spending, and savings. As they became older, they had to take care of their rooms, and they were given stars for every chore they finished.

The couple tries to offer their children some degree of normalcy in their lives, even though they are aware that their children will not experience a traditional childhood. John claims that his kids live like locals and aren’t “stuck behind the gates of a mansion.”

He said he knew there would be negatives but didn’t mind at all because he believed people were “brilliant” and “not hostile,” especially when they wanted to see images of him and his family. When asked if he was frightened of having his kids in the spotlight, he said he wasn’t afraid at all.

The musician and his wife want his children to spend meaningful time with their family outside of their mansion, so they would take them to the movies or out for pizza.

John doesn’t want to miss out on important moments with his children because of his fame. The musician also arrives on time to pick up and drop off his children at school.

Elton John Shows Off His Children
While John and his spouse usually don’t post any images of their sons online, the “Rocket Man” singer shared a special photo of Furnish, their sons, and their godmother, Lady Gaga, on social media. The performer expressed his sadness at not getting to take a picture with them, but he still expressed his love.
