Everyone experiences the odd need to alter their appearance. Making minor adjustments, like a new haircut or change of clothes we’ve grown tired of, might help us feel more refreshed.
After an amazing 25 years without a haircut, American Rosa Ramirez finally decided it was time for a change. Can you fathom going that long without going to a hair salon?
Rosa’s hair had gotten so long that she used to trample on it. Despite her husband’s persistent insistence that she switch up her hairstyle for years, she had always been pleased with her 1.5 meters of hair.
Rosa gave it a lot of thought before finally getting together with some pals and going to the hairdresser. She bravely decided to get her hair trimmed to her shoulders. What a remarkable shift that must have been!
Owner of the hair shop Eda Motchka acknowledged her satisfaction with the change. “We love to see different things done on customers — different styles — and we meet very often, and I always see her the same way,” she said in an interview.
But Rosa had a special reason for taking a haircut. Donated to Locks of Love, a nonprofit that creates wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer, were four feet of her hair. What a selfless act!
“I think it would make somebody’s day who is suffering from a bad disease, it will make their day a little brighter,” Rosa said in explaining her decision. Seeing how a tiny act of kindness can provide such joy to someone in need is heartwarming.
Rosa’s story of change is really intriguing. See her incredible hair transformation in the video below.
