In 2023, Bruce Willis was seen laughingly commemorating his 68th birthday and singing along to the family version of “Happy Birthday.”
On Sunday, March 19, Willis’s ex-wife, Demi Moore, shared a video of the family wishing him a “Happy Birthday” on social media. The Hollywood heavyweight was heard chatting with his family, which included his three daughters, Rumer, 35, Scout, 32, and Tallulah, 30, before he blew out his candles. 44-year-old Emma Heming Willis could also be heard.
“Happy birthday, BW! I’m overjoyed that we were able to commemorate you today. The former wife, Demi Moore, posted the humorous video to Instagram along with the words, “Love you and love our family.”
This was the first time he had been in public since his diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia was revealed.
“Extremely anxious”
In the past year, a lot of things have changed.
The family is reportedly “extremely anxious” about the Die Hard star’s weight loss and decreased appetite because his health is currently worsening.
“He doesn’t express hunger much,” a source told In Touch, adding that his weight and decreased appetite are red flags of deteriorating health.
Making sure he eats enough, doesn’t skip meals, and has a diet full of foods that could really be good for his health rather than terrible for it is said to be the hardest thing to accomplish at home, according to family members.This terrible situation should be recognizable to everyone who is providing care for a close family member who has dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
The source goes on, saying, “He has trouble recognizing people and can’t communicate anymore,” and that his cognitive function is deteriorating.
Sixth Sense actor Glenn Gordon says that his close friend is getting worse: He used to read a lot, but he stopped recently, and he didn’t want anyone to know that. He is not fully verbal. “All those language skills are no longer available to him,” Gordon continues. Gordon makes an effort to see Willis once a month, if not more.

Emma, meanwhile, says she’s “triggered” and that “there is no more joy in my husband” in response to the authors of the “blurbs of misinformation.”
The Oscar-winning actor’s biggest fan, Emma, posted something on Instagram on March 2 about the “negative narrative around dementia.” In her caption, she says, “My experience is that two things can be true and exist at the same time.” Deep love and sadness. Sadness and a close connection. Trauma and resilience.
“I can just tell you, that is far from the truth,” she clarifies in the video. There is pain and sorrow to the utmost degree possible. But you’re starting a new chapter.It is brimming with joy, love, connection, and happiness.
Without mentioning the source of the false information, she said, “I need society and whoever is writing these stupid headlines to stop scaring people and stop scaring people to think that once they get a diagnosis of some kind of neurocognitive disease, that’s it, it’s over.”
“This birthday could be his last.”
His family is preparing for a heartfelt farewell, so his 69th birthday will probably look very different.
“Everyone is optimistic about Bruce’s future and hopeful that he finds some kind of comfortable plateau or even, God willing, shows signs of improvement,” the insider says. “Family members are committed to spending as much time as possible with Bruce.”
They focus on that because they know he seems to take great comfort in his family’s presence. For however long he has left, they want Bruce to be surrounded by love and happiness.
