Media outlets have been reporting on Céline Dion’s health ever since the singer appeared to have shed a significant amount of weight.
Concerned that she no longer resembles the person she once was, her fans voiced their concerns. She argued, nonetheless, that she should be left alone.
In a recent interview, the Canadian-born singer responded to critics of her appearance by saying, “If I like it, I don’t want to talk about it.” Avoid the trouble. Avoid taking a photo. I’ll be there if that appeals to you. Just leave me alone if you don’t.”
But one of her representatives recently disclosed that Dion suffers from muscle spasms, which impede her ability to perform live. In addition to the epidemic that changed the course of many people’s lives, Dion was compelled to postpone her concerts in Las Vegas from November of last year to January 19 to February 5, 2022.
According to the statement, “Celine has been experiencing severe and persistent muscle spasms which are preventing her from performing.”
“She is still being assessed and treated by her medical staff. She is unable to participate in the current rehearsals for the new performance, nevertheless, due to her illness.
The singer herself expressed her sorrow on Instagram on the cancellation of the tour dates and her continued health issues.
“Hello to all of you. I apologize for the delay in getting in touch with you. In the video, Dion added, “I can’t wait to be on stage talking to you all in person. I miss you all so much.”
“As you are aware, I have always been transparent. Previously, I wasn’t prepared to share anything, but now I am. I have been struggling with health issues for a while, and I find it quite tough to talk about all that I’ve been going through and to face these obstacles.
“I was just diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a neurological ailment that affects around one in a million people. It is an extremely rare condition. We now know that this is the source of all of my spasms, even though we’re still learning a lot about this uncommon ailment. Regretfully, these spasms interfere with every part of my everyday existence; they can occasionally make it difficult for me to walk and prevent me from using my vocal chords to sing as I usually do.
She stated, “I have to admit it’s been a struggle, but I’m working hard with my sports medicine therapist every day to build back my strength and my ability to perform again.” Singing is all I know. I’ve always done this, and it’s my favorite thing to do.
“I really do miss you.” I miss playing for you all on stage and getting to see you all. I always give it my best when I perform, but right now my health allows me to give it to you,” she went on.
“I want to thank you so much for your encouraging wishes, love, and support on my social media,” Dion said as she ended the video. I’m very attached to this.

Dion has always felt a strong connection to Las Vegas, which she views as her home. Her association with “Sin City” started in 2003 when she moved to Las Vegas for a four-year residency that turned out to be a huge hit, earning her more than $385 million.
After a few years, Dion returned to the Las Vegas stage for a residency at Ceasar’s Palace, where she broke the previous record with 1,141 performances, according to Billboard.
The records for the two all-time best-selling residencies are also hers.
Due to health issues, Dion had earlier announced that her tour would begin in May 2022; however, the dates have subsequently been further delayed. Simultaneously, she canceled her residency in Las Vegas.
Just from her two prior Las Vegas residences, she earned $680 million. Based on available information, her net worth is estimated to be around $800 million, with $37 million in sales in 2019.
According to her earnings from the Celine residency performance, the singer’s absence from the stage resulted in a revenue loss of over $70 million.
Other than that, she is happy that her vacation gave her extra time to spend with her children.
