Since they get to dress whichever they choose, children find great joy in the yearly class photo day. On the other hand, some kids could find it distressing since they are self-conscious about their casual attire and find it awkward to smile for pictures.
Kaylieann Steinbach, three, was excited about her nighttime routine the night before her school picture. However, as soon as she saw the clothes her parents had picked out for her, the joyful expectation gave way to regret.
This little girl had to choose what to dress.
Superman and Supergirl are Kayliean’s favorite super heroes, but she refers to them as “Pooterman” and “Pootergirl” instead because she has severe hearing loss and cannot hear the letter “S.”
Regarding what she wanted to wear for the class pictures, she was very specific.
“Pootergirl!” she yelled at her parents as they started showcasing her different outfits.
Her father, Austin Steinbach, told us, “Well, I couldn’t argue with that answer.”
Kaylieann put on her heroic attire and achieved her goals. She smiled broadly as she stood for the photographers, toting a doll and her superhero costume.
Austin said that she frequently dresses up for school, and that both the teachers and the pupils like seeing what super hero costume she will be sporting each day.
After sharing a photo of Kaylieann in class on Reddit, Austin was taken aback by the responses. He received a lot of encouraging notes.
“The deaf community’s response and turnout is amazing,” he said. “I still find it impossible to read all of the kind words and encouraging letters that I have received. “I never could have imagined how much her picture could have touched so many people,” Austin Steinbach said to the Huffington Post.
Kaylieann is a super hero; she is certainly an amazing and courageous girl!
