The 62-year-old Grammy winner has been identified as having Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) illness, a degenerative neurological disease that causes muscle atrophy and balance problems.
This might make it more difficult for him to perform live since he has acknowledged that he gets uneasy and wobbly on stage. Jackson got the illness from both his grandmother, who was also afflicted with it, and his father. Jackson’s sister is battling CMT at the moment as well. The illness is not fatal, despite the fact that it has no known cure and is linked to other illnesses like muscular dystrophy and Parkinson’s.
